Vehicle Aftercare Guide – Proper Maintenance Starts Here
This page serves as a helpful reference for our clients on how to properly maintain their vehicle after it leaves our shop. While we take the time to educate each client on proper wash techniques and care routines during delivery, we understand it can be a lot to remember. That’s why we created this easy-to-follow guide—to help you protect your investment and keep your ceramic coating or paint protection film (PPF) performing at its best for years to come.

How to Safely Wash Your Polished & Protected Vehicle
Your vehicle’s clear coat and ceramic coating are durable but still require proper care to maintain their high-gloss, swirl-free finish. Follow these expert tips to keep your freshly detailed, polished, and protected paint looking its best.
✅ Before You Begin:
-
Always wash in the shade and only when the vehicle’s surface is cool to the touch.
-
Start with the wheels, tires, and fender wells — these are typically the dirtiest areas. Ensure wheels are cool before cleaning.
🪣 Use the Two-Bucket Wash Method:
-
One bucket for soapy wash water, one for rinsing your mitt.
-
Place grit guards in each bucket to trap dirt at the bottom and reduce swirl marks.
-
Rinse your mitt frequently throughout the process to avoid dragging contaminants across the paint.
💦 Pre-Rinse & Foam (Optional but Recommended):
-
Rinse the entire vehicle first to remove loose dirt and debris.
-
If available, use a foam cannon after the initial rinse to emulsify remaining grime and lubricate the surface—this greatly reduces the risk of wash-induced scratches.
🧼 Wash Method:
-
Wash top to bottom, as the lower sections (especially the rear) tend to collect the most dirt.
-
Rinse your wash mitt frequently in the rinse bucket—especially before tackling lower panels—to avoid scratching the finish.
🚿 Rinse & Dry Properly:
-
Use the pooling rinse method: remove your hose nozzle and allow water to flow gently over the surface. The coating’s hydrophobic properties will cause water to sheet off, speeding up the drying process.
-
Use a plush microfiber drying towel to dry remaining beads of water.
-
If available, use a car-safe air blower (like a Metro Master Blaster or even a leaf blower) to remove water from crevices and door jambs to prevent drips and spotting.
✨ Finishing Touches:
-
After dressing the tires, use a quick detail spray and a soft microfiber towel to wipe down painted surfaces and glass. This removes any remaining streaks and gives your vehicle a crisp, clean finish.
