Water Beads Ceramic Coating

This page is here as a reference for our clients on how to properly maintain their vehicles after it leaves our shop. We try to educate each client on the correct way to wash and care for their vehicle before departure, but we know it can be a lot to digest at first, so we wanted to create this page as a guide.

WASH TIPS

Your vehicle's clear coat can be very delicate so here are a few tips to help you maintain your freshly polished & protected finish.

  • Always wash in the shade and after the vehicle's surface is cool to the touch.

  • Wash wheels, tires, and fender wells first. Be sure wheels are cool to the touch as well.

  • Use the 2 bucket wash method with a grit guard in each bucket. The grit guards help to contain the dirt to the bottom of the bucket and keep the mitt clean. One bucket is used for soap and the other is used to rinse your mitt often throughout the wash process.

  • Pre-rinse the vehicle to remove as much dirt and contaminates as possible. If you have a foam cannon, foam the vehicle after rinsing to help further emulsify the dirt on the surface, greatly reducing the risk of inflicting damage to the paint finish while washing.

  • Wash top surfaces first, rinsing mitt often in secondary wash bucket. The lower portion and rear of the vehicle will be the dirtiest, so be sure to rinse the mitt more frequently to ensure you are not dragging dirt particles across the surface causing damage to the paint finish.

  • Rinse vehicle using the pooling rinse process, which sheets the majority of water from the vehicle. This is done by removing the nozzle from your hose and letting the water gently flow over the sealed or coated surface of the vehicle, using the hydrophobic abilities of the coating/sealant to your advantage to greatly decrease drying time.

  • Dry the leftover beads of water with your drying towel and dry out door jambs to reduce water drips later. If you have access to an air blower, like the Metro Master Blaster, use it to blow water out from all cracks and crevices to prevent water spots later. You can also use a leaf blower.

  • After conditioning tires, use your detail spray and soft microfiber towel to wipe over the paint and glass, to get any streaks left behind, leaving you with a crisp finish.
